Biography

Olivia Shen is Director of Strategic Technologies at the United States Studies Centre. She previously led the Data Science and AI Strategy section for the Australian Department of Home Affairs.

Olivia has also been a Director in the Executive and Professional Development Program at the National Security College, Australian National University (ANU).

Olivia was a Fulbright Scholar with the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington DC, where her research focused on the ethics of AI in national security. She has also been a Thawley Scholar with the Lowy Institute, a Summer Fellow with the Centre for the Governance of AI and an ANU Fellow with the US Congressional Research Fellowship Program.
