The Global Financial Crisis has resulted in modified business structures, new capital market trends and economic opportunities, and challenges which are polarising the U.S. political environment, with the potential for more radical policy.

At this event keynote speaker Gail Fosler, former President, The Conference Board (the leading US organisation of business leaders) commented on these financial and economic changes alongside the political and governance challenges facing the United States.

The Conference Board is the leading US organisation of business leaders, dedicated to creating and disseminating knowledge about management and the marketplace to help businesses strengthen their performance and better serve society.

Following Gail's keynote address a panel including Peter Warne MAICD, Non Executive Director of Macquarie Group Limited and Professor Geoffrey Garrett, Chief Executive Officer of the United States Studies Centre, and an experienced Director with a comprehensive knowledge of Australia’s financial and economic landscape explored the topic further and answered questions from the audience.

This event was co-hosted with the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and the US Studies Centre.
