USSC Director of Foreign Policy and Defence Professor Peter Dean was featured in an article in The Australian about a discussion between Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and US Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell that was caught on camera in Tonga about funding a Pacific policing initiative.

Professor Dean said the discussion showed “the level of trust, engagement, and co-ordination between the two countries," as they pursue share goals in the region.
