    John Howard OM AC is a member of the US Studies Centre's Council of Advisors. Howard served as the 25th Prime Minister of Australia between 11 March 1996 and 3 December 2007. He was a federal member of Parliament for 33 years. Howard is a Companion of the Order of Australia and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the United States, by President George W Bush.
