The United States Studies Centre teaches some of the most innovative and interesting undergraduate units in Australia.

These units are available to all University of Sydney students, with the option to complete some units as part of a major in American Studies, Gender and Cultural Studies or History.

Students may also choose to apply for cross-institutional or non-award study.

American Studies

The American Studies program draws on the combined expertise of the United States Studies Centre and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Sydney. It offers Australia’s broadest range of undergraduate units and enables you to develop a critical understanding of the United States and its global influence.

Honours

Upon completing a Bachelor’s degree, students can pursue a year-long research project that involves the production of a thesis.
