Biography
Alice Nason is a Non-Resident Fellow at the United States Studies Centre and a 2025 Fulbright scholar. She is also Vice President at the Australian Institute of International Affairs NSW. Her research pertains to US Indo-Pacific strategy and Australian defence policy, with a focus on the AUKUS partnership and on US Congressional politics. Alice's research has been published by the Washington Quarterly, the Australian, the Australian Financial Review, the Interpreter, the Strategist and the Georgetown Journal of International Affairs among other platforms.
Formerly, Alice was a Senior Research Associate in the Foreign Policy and Defence Program with the Centre. She previously worked as a research fellow at the Washington DC-based Global Business Policy Council and as a Business Analyst at an international consultancy.
Alice holds a Bachelor of Arts and Advanced Studies with high distinction and First Class Honours from the University of Sydney. She completed a semester of study at the University of California, Berkeley, and an honours dissertation pertaining to the conduct of senior official diplomacy in the Indo-Pacific under the first Trump presidency.
