Biography

Alice Nason is a Senior Research Associate in the Foreign Policy and Defence Program at the United States Studies Centre. She is also a Councillor at the Australian Institute of International Affairs.

Alice's research pertains to US Indo-Pacific strategy and Australian defence policy, with a focus on AUKUS implementation issues and US and Australian regional statecraft. She co-leads the Centre’s work on AUKUS Pillar I and US Congressional Asia policy.

Alice's writing has been published on platforms including the Australian, The Interpreter, The Conversation, the Georgetown Journal of International Affairs, ISEAS Fulcrum and The Diplomat.

Formerly, Alice worked as a research fellow at the Washington DC-based Global Business Policy Council and as a Business Analyst at an international consultancy.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts and Advanced Studies with high distinction and First Class Honours from the University of Sydney. Her honours thesis pertained to US senior official diplomacy in the Indo-Pacific.
