Australia is among 60 countries potentially facing new tariffs from the United States after the Trump administration accused them of failing to block goods made with "forced labour" — opening another front in the US' ongoing global trade war.

USSC Director of Economic Security Hayley Channer spoke with SBS on this development, saying the tariffs are likely to have minimal impact on Australia, but "The bigger problem is the instability of US tariff rates, which makes it difficult for Australian businesses to plan long-term."
