The US has launched strikes on Iran in response to the downing of one of its Apache helicopters, US President Donald Trump says. Iranian media have reported explosions in several cities on Iran's southern coast, surrounding the Strait of Hormuz.
USSC Director of Research Jared Mondschein spoke with ABC News on this development, saying that the warning from President Trump "indicates that this is not a huge distance away from the ceasefire... as both Iran and the United States don't want tensions to escalate to where they were just a few weeks ago."
