ABC's PM reports that the US President Donald Trump has paused a military operation that was guiding stranded ships out of the Strait of Hormuz. It had only been going for one day and was aiming to defend commercial vessels against attacks from Iran and its proxy groups. Mr Trump says he is putting the operation on hold at the request of Pakistan.
