Internships in Australia

In addition to real-world experience, students who take on our internships also receive six elective credit points towards their degree. The program provides academic support for students to refine research approaches and discuss questions arising from the placement.

  • Foreign policy and defence interns work with the USSC research team on pressing issues affecting Australia’s relationship with the United States.

  • Interns will work with the USSC innovation and entrepreneurship team to address real-world problems and produce analysis and insights pertinent to the growth of New South Wales and Australia.

  • Interns will develop their analytical, writing and problem solving skills as they experience the real-world application of economics and economic data in the fast-paced environment of a research centre.

  • Open to undergraduate and postgraduate students, this placement program is an exclusive opportunity to intern at the US Consulate in Sydney during the summer break.

  • Our interns come from a diverse range of backgrounds. Find out why they undertook an internship at USSC, what they have worked on and what they have learned from the experience.
