Events Manager, United States Studies Centre
Janine Pinto is responsible for the development and delivery of the United States Studies Centre's events strategy.
Prior to joining the Centre, Janine worked at the University of Technology Sydney's Marketing and Communications Unit supporting the university’s marketing strategy and delivery of events promoting undergraduate and postgraduate programs, academic programs and research strategy for the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology.
Janine’s sales and marketing career commenced in the hospitality industry of which she spent 15 years at the InterContinental Sydney in event management and business development senior executive roles. During this time Janine was the driving force behind InterContinental Sydney’s meetings and events business, successfully leading the sales conversion and event management teams and securing a diverse range of high profile corporate and major international events for the hotel.
Some of the high profile events Janine led included the hosting of Oprah Winfrey’s “Ultimate Australian Adventure”, Commonwealth Law Ministers Meeting, Chief Heads of Defence Conference, G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Conference, G20 Trade Ministers Conference and the United States Secretary of State visits.
Janine holds a double degree with a Bachelor of Business in Hospitality Management and Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
