Biography

Janine Pinto is the Senior Events Manager at the United States Studies Centre. She is responsible for the development, strategy and delivery of the Centre's events programs and is focused on creating unique events showcasing the Centre’s research.

Previously she worked at the University of Technology Sydney supporting the Faculties of Law and Engineering and Information Technology by delivering events across their undergraduate, postgraduate and academic programs, including research seminars and conferences.

Her career spans over 25 years in event management, business development and stakeholder engagement. She commenced her sales and marketing career in the hospitality industry at one of Sydney’s luxury hotel brands. During her extensive career at the iconic InterContinental Sydney, she was the driving force leading the hotel’s Meetings, Incentives, Conference and Exhibitions (MICE) portfolio and leading the business development and event management teams in showcasing major international events.

Some high-profile events led by Janine included: Oprah Winfrey’s “Ultimate Australian Adventure”, Commonwealth Law Ministers Meeting, Chief Heads of Defence Conference, G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Conference, G20 Trade Ministers Conference, AUSMIN US Secretary of State visits and The Global Conference on Environmental Taxation to name a few.

Janine holds a Bachelor of Business in Hospitality Management and Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
