Biography

Matthew Tracey is a non-resident fellow at the United States Studies Centre. He also holds various advisory roles and board seats in Australia and the United States.

Previously, he was Vice President, International at Saronic, a designer and manufacturer of fully autonomous surface vessels with dual-use applications. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, Saronic has raised over US$2B in venture funding and grown to over 1,500 employees. Matthew was an early hire and built Saronic’s business and operational posture in Australia, the United Kingdom, and elsewhere.

Prior to Saronic, Matthew spent over a decade at Palantir Technologies in Canberra, Palo Alto, New York, and London, where he led teams working in the defence and intelligence community across the allied world.

He holds dual degrees in Law and Commerce from Macquarie University and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Earlier in his career, he practised as a technology lawyer at Allens in Sydney.
