USSC Foreign Policy and Defence Director Professor Peter Dean is quoted in an article discussing the Australian Naval Nuclear Power Safety Bill, recently introduced into Australian parliament.
In response to arguments by the Greens, Professor Dean tells The Sydney Morning Herald that he does not believe the proposed new safety laws were drafted to facilitate Australia receiving nuclear waste from the United States or United Kingdom.
