Gopika is the Marketing and Outreach Officer at the US Studies Centre, working with the Communications and Engagement team. With more than five years of experience in Australia and India, she provides social media, marketing and outreach support for the USSC's policy-focused research, public events and academic programs. Previously, Gopika was a Research Associate at Mizuho India Japan Study Centre (MIJSC) at the Indian Institute of Management (Bangalore), where she managed and produced editorial, marketing and stakeholder communication to facilitate collaborative initiatives among academia, industry and government agencies of India and Japan, on various areas of interest. Before that, she worked as Metadata Project Coordinator at Penguin Random House Australia and Bolinda Publishing Pvt. She also had a brief stint at the 2022 annual Screen Forever conference organised by Screen Producers Australia in social media communications, digital signages and asset creation.
Gopika is passionate about the big three — travel, literature and pop culture. A staunch advocate of the United Nations SDGs, she is also the Diversity and Inclusion Champion at the US Studies Centre.
She holds a Master of Global Media Communication from the University of Melbourne, a Masters in Mass Communication majoring in Journalism from Symbiosis International University, and a BA in English Literature from All Saints' College, Kerala, India.
