Triple J Hack reporter Tom Tilley hosted an engaging session with leading US Republican commentator Cliff May. Mr May shared a Republican perspective on American domestic and foreign policy issues, from climate change to the war on terror. He offered insights into the Republicans' strategies for 2010 and 2012 and analysis of Sarah Palin's surprise move.

Clifford D. May was a visitor at the US Studies Centre in August 2009. May is the founder and President of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, a non-partisan policy institute that focuses on national security, which was created immediately after the September 11 attacks on the United States. May has had a long and distinguished career in international relations, journalism, communications and politics. From 1997 to 2001, he served as the Director of Communications for the Republican National Committee.
