USSC Research Associate Victoria Cooper told AusBiz that President Biden used a prime-time speech to call the US midterms election a "battle for the soul of democracy" saying "MAGA Republicans - a reference to the more extreme and radical part of the Repubican Party - are a danger to American democracy."
Victoria said President Biden earlier described some Republicans as semi-fascist "so the speech was a recovery attempt to deliniate between MAGA Republicans and mainstream Republicans and that there were Republicans the Democrats could work with to create the best outcomes for the American people."
