Dr. Su Wai Mon

Dr. Su Wai Mon is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, and an associate member of the Institute of Ocean and Earth Sciences (IOES), at the University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia.

Biography

She is a former visiting scholar at the Centre for International Law, NUS. She is also an adjunct professor at the Woxen University, Hyderabad, India. She is a member of the Maritime Institute of Malaysia (MIMA). Su holds a Ph.D. in maritime security and law enforcement. Her research interest includes public international law, law of the sea, and maritime security.

She was awarded the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) Grants by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia for two consecutive years 2021 and 2022 for the projects entitled “Formulating a Legal and Regulatory Framework for Protection of Submarine Cables in Malaysia” and “Maritime Cybersecurity: Formulating a Legal and Risk Management Framework in Malaysia” respectively.She has a special research interest in Artificial Intelligence in maritime security, cybersecurity in the maritime domain, and IUU fishing.
