USSC Non-Resident Senior Fellow Bruce Wolpe talks to ABC TV's Afternoon Briefing about the US public's response to the convictions of Hunter Biden and former president Donald Trump, with recent polling showing the economy as a more important issue for voters.
"Inflation is very high and squeezing household budgets just like it is in Australia ... and interest rates are at record highs compared to the lows during the Trump administration," says Wolpe. "So there's sort of nostalgia for Trump, for his economic performance. It's hurting Biden ... and people do not see relief yet."
"It's still tough going throughout middle America," he says.
