USSC Associate Professor Dr David Smith talks to ABC Drive about the fracturing relationship between the Biden Administration and the Israeli Government. This comes as the United States enabled a United Nations Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, which Dr Smith labels a reflection of “how frustrated the Biden Administration is with Netanyahu and the Israeli Government.”
Dr Smith also discusses the electoral backlash Biden may face from Arab-American and young American voters in the general election, who are critical of the administration’s continued supply of weaponry to Israel: “While at the same time trying to maintain the general American pro-Israel consensus, [Biden] is also really trying to appease these voters, voters he could well lose.”
