USSC Non-Resident Fellow Victoria Cooper talked to 4BC radio about how the assassination attempt on Donald Trump has upended the Biden campaign's message.
"A large part of the strategy of the Biden campaign so far has been saying: 'Donald Trump is a threat to democracy.' Partly because that drives turnout," said Cooper.
"So now, they have to really pivot and think of a new message that's going to sell, that's a bit more delicate, considering that hours before Trump got shot, Kamala Harris for example was saying: 'Trump incites violence.'"
