The Alliance at 70
September 1, 2021 marks 70 years since the signing of the ANZUS Treaty, the first major international security treaty Australia entered independent of the British government. Now, at age 70, the US-Australia alliance is in an especially lively phase, its relevance to Australian national security greater now than since the height of the Cold War. The United States Studies Centre is commemorating the occasion with a series of publications and events telling the story of the US-Australia Alliance.
