Polling shows Australians disagree with accusation their country is 'sleepwalking to war'

USSC Director of Research Jared Mondschein speaks to ABC Counterpoint about findings from the USSC's latest polling report.

Mondschein says that there has been a 'pretty remarkable' 9 percentage point drop in the number of Australians who think a war with China is likely. On the question of the impact of the 2024 presidential election on US allies like Australia and Japan, Mondschein says that the Republican party's isolationist bent has largely focussed on US commitments to Ukraine and the Middle East, while standing up to China remains firmly on the agenda.
