The US Senate has ruled Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial is constitutional, refusing to give sitting leaders' a 'get out of jail option' during the transition of power following a presidential election according to US Studies Centre CEO Simon Jackman who spoke to SKy News. The constitutionality of the proceedings was the first item up for debate at the Senate hearing today and was decided in favour of the Democrats who hold the balance of power after the 2020 election.
