North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un has arrived in Russia for a meeting with President Vladimir Putin to strengthen ties between both countries. US officials suggest a possible deal for North Korea to supply Russia with weaponry for the Ukraine War will dominate their talks which could trigger further sanctions.

USSC Foreign Policy and Defence Director Professor Peter Dean says it’s most likely Kim Jong Un will negotiate artillery ammunition in exchange for advanced weapon systems from Vladimir Putin.

“From the analysis and the material that’s been coming out about this meeting, it will most likely be built around … artillery ammunition possibly in exchange for advanced weapon systems or technology from Russia to North Korea to support their ever-expanding military,” Professor Dean told Sky News Australia.

“Particularly around their ballistic missile tests, submarines and other such technologies which North Korea are desperate to get their hands on as they continue to breach international sanctions and restrictions on their growing nuclear program.”
