USSC Director of Foreign Policy and Defence Professor Peter Dean is featured in an article discussing the release of the Australian Government's upcoming investment plan to modernise the Australian Defence Force. Professor Dean told The Australian that strategic threats were accelerating but the Australian Government couldn’t create new weapons “out of thin air.”
“The fallback here is you have to rely more on the US. There is nothing else we can do in the short-term because we don’t have those capabilities.”
