Who gets what, when, and how? This year’s US presidential election has seen an intense focus on who? Who is a member of the nation? This is the most basic question of politics, and is the one that matters most to Donald Trump and his supporters. In this talk, USSC senior lecturer David Smith explained why we won’t see a return to 'normal' American politics until the question of American national identity has been addressed, however painful that may be.
