The University of Sydney's Manning Bar was transformed into a convention hall lounge on August 29 and September 5. Over 200 people gathered to experience the spectacle of the American political conventions. Amidst a sea of red, white and blue balloons, they watched live screenings of Barack Obama and John McCain's presidential nomination acceptance speeches on the big screen.
Audience members were able to 'cast their vote' and have their photo taken with life size cardboard cutouts of Barack Obama and John McCain. Some great prizes were on offer for those who took part in the US election trivia challenge.
