USSC Director of Foreign Policy and Defence Professor Peter Dean is quoted in an article discussing the Albanese government's decision to reject US calls to send a warship to the Red Sea.
Professor Dean tells the Australian Financial Review that the Australian Government is "being responsible" and "putting major strategic interests first." He says that Australia is a regional, rather than global, power and "ambitions can be limitless, resources are finite and strategy is about making hard choices.”
