Director of Economic Security at the United States Studies Centre Hayley Channer was interviewed by the Nine Network's Weekend Today Show to discuss the latest Australia-US ministerial meeting and the US licensing of intellectual property to enable missile manufacturing in Australia. Her commentary was also featured across several Australian radio programs around the country.

Asked about Australia-US defence cooperation, Hayley said "AUKUS was a huge accomplishment" and addressed the misperception that the United States pursued AUKUS to convince Australia to assist in its foregin policy. "Actually, it's the reverse", Hayley responds, "Australia went to the United States, asked for this really sensitive nuclear technology and the US and UK agreed that they would share it with us."
