USSC Non-Resident Senior Fellow Bruce Wolpe appears on ABC News Afternoon Briefing to provide an overview of US politics, touching on funding disputes in Congress concerning US aid to Ukraine and Israel and the pathway forward for Republican contender Nikki Haley in the lead-up to the first primaries of the 2024 presidential election cycle.

On the question of getting a US aid package through Congress before Christmas, Wolpe says that there are bipartisan talks underway in the Senate, but that the House Republican caucus is divided, especially over aid to Ukraine.

In his view, it would be "a terrible setback for US foreign policy objectives if US aid to Ukraine and Israel can't get through Congress."
