Prosecutors have tabled crucial evidence over claims Donald Trump made a hush-money payment to an adult film star.

They allege the former president made the payment to his longtime fixer, Michael Cohen, reimbursing him for a $130,000 pay-off to porn star, Stormy Daniels. The trial judge also held Trump in contempt and threatened to jail him.

USSC Director of Research Jared Mondschein tells ABC that he doesn't see many Americans being influenced by the way this court case turns, "not only because Americans are in many ways fixed in their views of Donald Trump one way or the other, but also because this trial, according to legal scholars, is probably one of the weaker cases Trump is facing."
