USSC Professor of US Politics and US Foreign Relations Brendon O'Connor appears on ABC Drive to discuss what Ron DeSantis' withdrawal from the Republican primaries race means for former president Trump's chances.
Professor O'Connor says that DeSantis "tried to be more conservative than Trump," by focusing on culture divide issues such as school curricular in Florida. However, in O'Connor's view "the ultimate problem was DeSantis himself" and while the Florida governor has done reasonably well electorally at the state level, he lacks broader appeal.
