Master of Philosophy

Students can pursue a postgraduate research degree in which they produce an extended piece of original research over the course of one to two years. This program is different to the Master of Arts (Research) as it offers a more structured, singular focus on research.

Students produce a thesis of 40,000-60,000 words over the course of the program. In addition, students wishing to move from within a research Master’s to a Doctor of Philosophy have more options and flexibility to ease the transition.

Supervision

A large part of pursuing a Higher Degree by Research is to find an appropriate supervisor, one that reflects your interests and is able to provide relevant insights into your area of enquiry. You can find the contact details and learn more about our academics' research expertise by visiting our faculty page.
