Chairman, Australian Securities and Investments Commission
Greg Medcraft is a member of the US Studies Centre Board of Directors.
He was appointed ASIC Chairman in May 2011 after joining ASIC as Commissioner in February 2009.
Prior to ASIC, Medcraft was Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director at the Australian Securitisation Forum.
Medcraft spent nearly 30 years in investment banking at Société Générale in Australia, Asia, Europe and the Americas. More recently, he was the Managing Director and Global Head of Securitisation, based in New York.
In 2002, Medcraft co-founded the American Securitization Forum and was its Chairman from 2005 until 2007 when he returned to Australia.
Before joining Société Générale, Medcraft worked as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG.
He was Chair of the IOSCO Board from March 2013 to May 2016.
Medcraft was recently appointed as a director of the Salzburg Global Seminar - the first Australian to be appointed to the board.
