Dr Anna Lebovic

Research Associate and Lecturer, United States Studies Centre

Dr Anna Lebovic is a research associate and lecturer at the United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney. Her research is highly interdisciplinary, combining US cultural history, gender and women’s history, media studies, and fashion history.

She is currently working on a book about American Vogue, which will be the first comprehensive academic history of America’s pre-eminent fashion magazine. It argues that consumer culture – and, by extension, women’s periodicals – are key cultural spaces through which to understand the evolution of second wave feminism within the United States.

Anna received a BA (First Class Honours) and her PhD from the University of Sydney.

She has taught US history at Macquarie University and the University of Sydney, and currently teaches undergraduate and postgraduate subjects at the United States Studies Centre.
