Dr Alex Robson

    Dr Alex Robson is a Non-Resident Fellow at the United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney. He has written extensively on Australian public policy issues and has more than 20 years’ experience as an economist, including at senior levels in the private sector, government and academia. He recently served as Chief Economist to Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull. Prior to that he was Director of the Economic Policy Analysis Program at Griffith University. He has also held positions at Deloitte Access Economics, the Australian National University and Commonwealth Treasury. Dr Robson’s research interests include public economics, law and economics and applied microeconomics. He has published in a number of peer-reviewed academic journals, including Economic Theory, Public Choice, Economic Modelling, and the Geneva Papers on Risk and Uncertainty. He holds an MA and PhD in Economics from the University of California.
