Caroline Kennedy commenced as US Ambassador to Australia on 25 July 2022. Kennedy, who served as US ambassador to Japan during the Obama administration, said the United States and Australia have a “big agenda” to pursue and will be working together "toward peace and stability, health, security and economic prosperity in this region and beyond.”
