Non-Resident Fellow, Foreign Policy and Defence Program
Jennifer Jackett is a Non-Resident Fellow in the Foreign Policy and Defence Program at the United States Studies Centre and a Senior Adviser in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet in the Australian Government. She is currently on leave from government while pursuing a PhD as a Sir Roland Wilson Scholar at the National Security College, Australian National University. Her research examines US-China competition for leadership over advanced and emerging technologies, and the implications for US allies and partners including Australia.
Jennifer has also worked in the Department of Defence and Cabinet Secretary’s Office, and has experience advising government on a range of cross-cutting policy issues, including critical infrastructure, foreign interference, counter‑terrorism, international defence engagement, and defence capability development. Jennifer holds a Master of National Security Policy from the National Security College, Australian National University, and a Bachelor of Liberal Studies (First Class Honours and University Medal) from Sydney University.
