Some foreign affairs analysts have said that Donald Trump's request for help from Australia to clear his name over possible election interference was 'completely inappropriate'.

What was revealed today is that the US President asked Scott Morrison to help provide evidence that would discredit the Mueller Investigation, which looked into whether the President colluded with Russia to interfere in the 2016 campaign.

Some say Australia played a straight bat diplomatically, but it's the context that matters: A US President now seen to be serially pressuring foreign countries to advance his own political agenda.
