World leaders, including US President Donald Trump and Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, depart for Hamburg, Germany today to attend the G20 Summit.
Alongside issues like counterterrorism, Syria and NATO, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said in her weekly podcast that this year's summit will tackle distribution of wealth, consumption of resources, climate change, free markets, consumer protection and upholding social standards.
Trump will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin at an official bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the summit, the White House and the Kremlin have confirmed. Their first face-to-face encounter comes amid rising tensions on Syria and Russian meddling in last year's US presidential election.
