US President Donald Trump and Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull have met once again in person, holding discussions in Manila earlier this week.
Both men were in the Philippines capital for the East Asia Summit, and had one-on-one time in Trump's presidential suite for 30 minutes, with no officials present in the room. Terrorism and the fight against Islamic State militants dominated the conversation, according to reports. It's not known whether either leader raised the US refugee resettlement deal for asylum seekers on Manus Island.
"We decided we would sit down and have a very frank discussion as we do, we have a very good relationship, very frank relationship as you can see," Turnbull told reporters on Tuesday.
Turnbull and Trump also joined Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe for a trilateral meeting earlier in the day.
