It's being reported in the US that President Donald Trump asked then FBI director James Comey to close a probe into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn's Russian contacts. The White House has denied the allegations, saying it never asked Mr Comey or anyone else to end the investigation. It comes after the National Security advisor has launched a robust defence of Donald Trump's decision to share confidential information with Russia's Foreign Minister during a White House meeting with Sergei Lavrov last week. ABC NewsRadio's Glen Bartholomew spoke to USSC research associate Professor James Curran about the controversy.
