The United States Studies Centre’s Ashley Townshend has warned the chances of achieving North Korea nuclear dismantlement at the second summit with US President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un is ‘very low.’ Townshend says the hermit kingdom has failed to make substantial concessions, having only dismantled some missile facilities on a ‘non-irreversible basis’, while continuing to expand its nuclear inventory. Townshend told Sky News baby steps are the best way forward diplomatically, saying North Korea ‘will never give up its nuclear weapons in any short-term horizon’.
