"He has extensive management experience relevant to a Business School context and a breadth of scholarly interests that notably include globalisation, international relations, business administration and strategic management," Dr Spence said.
"We wish Geoff well as he takes on this new challenge and look forward to working with him in the coming year and beyond to deepen the relationships between the Centre, the Business School, and other Faculties of the University", said Chair of the US Studies Centre Malcolm Binks AO.

"I am honoured and delighted to be the next Dean of the Business School, following the wonderful leadership of Professor Peter Wolnizer," said Professor Garrett. "I very much look forward to working with Acting Dean Tyrone Carlin and his colleagues to take the School to new heights, including partnering with the US Studies Centre to enrich the opportunities for our students to study, live and work in America."
Professor Garrett was previously President of the Pacific Council on International Policy in Los Angeles and before that Dean of the UCLA International Institute. He has also held senior academic positions at Oxford, Stanford, and Yale and the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
