Dr John Lee was quoted in an article in the South China Morning Post, highlighting how the global coronavirus pandemic is more likely to aggravate rather than repair "already fraught relationships" between the US and China.
Speaking to the South China Morning Post, Dr Lee said tensions between the two powers were more heightened “than at any time since diplomatic relations began in the late 1970s”.
