Climate change, human rights and the value of the Chinese currency have once again dominated high level talks between the world's two dominant economies in Washington. In this report US Studies Centre research associate Tom Switzer says Democrats on Capitol Hill see climate change and human rights as important criteria for a close relationship between China and the US.
