When United States Ambassador to Australia John Berry first introduced himself via video on the US Embassy’s website in 2013, it was described as the “friendliest introduction in diplomatic history” by local media.

It’s safe to say that three years later, President Barack Obama’s chief people person has more than lived up to his reputation.

As his time in the post was wrapping up, Ambassador Berry joined Research Director James Brown from the United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney to reflect on his tenure and also offer his thoughts on the future of the US-Australia relationship.
